1477085 Indicating apparatus INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 16 Oct 1975 [24 Oct 1974] 42444/75 Heading G1J [Also in Division H3] In an electrical apparatus having a cord 8 connected between an indicator 7 and a shaft 5 around which one end of the cord is wrapped, the other end of the cord is connected to a tensioning spring 19, a larger diameter part 14 of a drum 16 takes up the cord which extends to the indicator and a smaller diameter part 15 of the drum takes up the cord which extends to the tensioning spring so that movement of the indicator along the dial on rotation of the shaft is greater than corresponding movement of the end of the cord attached to the spring. As shown the cord passes through a groove 22 between the large and small drums about which it is wound in opposite directions. A tuning device such as a variometer of a car radio can be controlled via the adjusting shaft 5.
