1476977 Toy targets METTOY CO Ltd 13 Oct 1975 [12 Sept 1974] 39805/74 Heading A6S [Also in Divisions F2 and F3] A toy target comprises a target figure 3, Fig. 1, supported for rotation about a generally horizontal axis remote from the figure, and a gravity driven escapement mechanism, for rotating the figure. As shown, four target figures 3, each in the shape of a bird, are mounted behind a disk-shaped board 1 and support 2. A journal pin 17, Fig. 6, carries a disk 6 on which the four target birds 3 are mounted by means of two wire supports 7, Figs. 2, 3, friction fitted to abutments 10, &c. at the rear of the disk. The wire supports 7, Fig. 2, each have two end arms 8 for resilient clips 12, Fig. 4, one attached to each target bird 3. The resilient clips 12 each pivot together with their target birds 3 about the arms 8 of the wire support 4. If a target bird 3 is knocked down by a toy missile, it is pivoted backwards, Figs. 5a-c (not shown), its resilient clip 12 is flexed, and then pivots the target bird back up again into an upright position. The escapement mechanism comprises a weight 27, Fig. 6, and cord 26 wound round a drum 24 by pulling a knob 25 to disengage a dog clutch drive (23, 23a), Fig. 7 (not shown), to the disk 6, turning the knob, and pushing the knob to re-engage the dog clutch drive. The disk 6 has forwardly projecting pins 18 coacting with pawls 30, 30 swung back-and-forth about a pivot pin 29 by a pendulum 20. A pawl 28 prevents bounce-back of the pawls 30, &c. The disk 6 and the target birds 2 thus advance step-by-step.
