Abstract

1476792 Gas turbine plant UNITED TURBINE AB & CO KB 12 Oct 1974 44290/74 . Heading F1G A gas turbine plant comprises a separate compressor and turbine rotors 10, 11 respectively, the shafts of which are inter-connected via an infinitely variable transmission 22, e.g. of belt type, and planetary reduction gearing 18. Output power is transmitted via bevel reduction gear 32 and reversing gear-box 19, e.g. to the wheels of a car. The plant includes a combustion chamber 12 and regenerator 13 which may be of rotary type. As shown the rotor axes are disposed vertically but they may be disposed in V-formation, Fig. 6 (not shown) or axially, Figs. 1 to 4 (not shown). A second turbine (11a) having adjustable guide vanes may be geared to turbine 11. A freewheel (25) or a slip coupling may be provided in series with variable transmission 22.
