Abstract

1475100 Image intensifying tubes LICENTIA PATENT VERWALTUNGS GmbH 16 Dec 1974 [19 Dec 1973] 54273/74 Heading HID The photocathode 3 of an image intensifying tube is carried on an insulating base 1 and is connected via a peripheral conductor 5 to a surrounding annular conductor 4 by a high resistance material 6 which may cover the entire gap between conductors 4 and 5 or selected portions thereof. The resistive material can be chromium or an alloy containing chromium. The high resistance path is stated to reduce damage to the tube resulting from sudden increases in the input radiation level.
