Abstract
1474760 Dry coke quenching process GOSUDAR VSES INST PO PROEKTIROVANIJU PREDPRIYATY KOXOKHIM PROMYSHLEN GIPROKOX 12 Aug 1974 35414/74 Heading F4B In a dry coke quenching process comprising circulating inert gas through a cooling chamber 7 and a waste heat boiler 6, the recovery of heat in the latter is measured and if below a norm part of the circulating gas is burnt in a combustion chamber 3 with the addition of combustible gas and air and then returned to the circuit. The latter incorporates dust separators 1 and 10 and fans 2, 4 and 9 control the diverted gas, supply the combustible mixture and recirculate the inert gas respectively. The producer gas may be replaced by natural gas or coke oven gas. The quantity of gas diverted to the combustion chamber 3 varies generally between 0À8%- 1À5% of the whole.
