Abstract
147,457. AmpÞre-Ges. May 6, 1918, [Convention date]. Alloys.-The extraction of ferro-tungsten by smelting in an electric furnace is promoted by adding to the charge sulphur, either in the free state or as a sulphide, or sulphide-forming mixture. Iron pyrites and a mixture of gypsum and coal may be used, and in such quantity that the addition of sulphur is from 1 to 3 per cent of the tungsten ore of the charge.
