Wireless signalling.-To superimpose a musical note on the waves generated by a Poulsen arc, the high-frequency circuit 3, 4 is coupled to the aerial by a closed iron transformer 6, and one winding of the transformer is excited by a low-frequency alternator 12, or a low-frequency alternator is used in place of the continuous source 2 to sustain the arc 1. The low-frequency current may be passed through one of the windings 5, 7 instead of a separate winding.
