Abstract

1474271 Dishwashing machines EURO HAUSGERATE GmbH 24 July 1974 [27 July 1973] 32709/74 Heading A4F The electric heating element 4 of a dishwasher is located in a tank 1 of thermoplastic material which is supplied with the washing water e.g. through a filter cover 2 and the element and tank are protected against overheating in the event of an interruption in the water supply, e.g. owing to clogging of cover 2, by the provision of a metal shield 5 which holds a body of water in contact with the element. The element enters the shield, suitably formed as a horizontal tray, by an opening which allows water to flow from the tray, the floor of the tray being inclined towards the opening. The tank also has a water-recycling port. A rotatable and removable nozzle 15 may be provided in the tank and connected to a recycling pump for spraying water over the element. The spray may also be directed on to the cover 2 for cleaning purposes. In an alternative embodiment wherein the tank is mounted vertically the tray is provided with one or more holes in the vertical walls thereof.
