Abstract

1474051 Bearings NADELLA and A PITNER 19 July 1974 [7 Aug 1973] 32031/74 Addition to 1409134 Heading F2A In a rectilinear motion bearing with recirculating rollers 2, the rollers are guided by their planar end surfaces 2a against planar surfaces 10 of the bearing body and are provided with retaining means formed by elements 3 which project beyond the end surfaces of the rollers and are engaged in grooves in the bearing body adjacent the planar guide surfaces, the elements 3 being retained against outward movement by two rings 5 secured to two inner parallel faces 6 on the bearing body. The planar guide surfaces may be provided by the rings (as shown), or by shoulders formed between the raceways and the respective faces 6 (Fig. 4, not shown). The rings are produced by cutting from sheet metal, and are held in place by two end walls clamped to the bearing body. The transverse dimension of the inner aperture of the rings is such that the rings can be assembled by slipping them over the respective limb 7, 7a, 8, 8a of the bearing body.
