Abstract

1352909 Bearings W SCHAEFFLER and G SCHAEFFLER [trading as INDUSTRIEWERK SCHAEFFLER ohG] 20 Aug 1971 [20 Aug 1970] 39256/71 Heading F2A In a split plastics roller bearing cage, each of the two boundary surfaces of the split is divided into two sections 5, 6 over the width of the cage, which sections are provided with projecting portions 7 offset radially with respect to one another for engagement with complementary portions 8 in the facing boundary surface. The cage is such that it can be produced by means of a simple injection mould consisting of two parts which can be shifted axially with respect to one another. In an alternative embodiment, the two sections of each boundary surface have planar faces which are inclined in opposite directions to one another and to a radial plane passing through the axis of the cage.
