Abstract

1473663 Mechanical switches AMF Inc 9 May 1974 [9 May 1973 27 June 1973] 22184/73 and 30474/73 Heading H1N A switch is closed and after a predetermined time, opens itself. A pull on cord 19 rotates arm 16A which engages with teeth 13A which rotates ratchet wheel 13 joined to cam block 12 to rotate block 12 so that plastics pawl 20 is moved out of a cam notch 12A on to a cam surface 12B to move slider 6 which closes contacts 4, 5 through projections 6A, 6B. The contacts 4, 5 close the circuit to a load and to an electric motor 7 which rotates through gearing 8A, 8 a plastics ratchet wheel 9 whose teeth 9B engage teeth 11A on ratchet wheel 11 on the underside of cam block 12 and further rotate block 12 until pawl 20 falls into the next notch 12A thereby allowing contacts 4, 5 to open under their own resilience breaking the circuit to the load and stopping motor 7.
