1473559 Fork assembly for masted lift truck EATON GmbH 29 Aug 1974 37724/74 Heading B8H A fork assembly for a masted lift truck comprises a plate 2 for attachment to the lift carriage (not shown) of the lift truck and forming a guideway extending transversely of the truck, a telescopic arm 12 comprising a first section 9, 10, 11 movable along the guideway and a further section 24, 25 longitudinally movable within the first section, and a pair of forks 27 pivotally mounted on the further section for rotation about a vertical axis. An electric motor 35 is mounted on the first section of the arm 12 and drives a shaft 37 with sprockets 42, 43 and associated clutches 44, 45 mounted thereon. The sprocket 42 engages a rack 47 to effect movement of the arm along the guideway, and a sprocket 48 on a countershaft 38. The sprocket 43 also engages with a sprocket 50 on the countershaft. The sprocket 48 has an associated clutch 47 and is coupled with a sprocket 49 and thence through a chain 57, a double sprocket 54 mounted on a spindle 53, a chain 58 and a further sprocket 56 to effect rotation of the forks about the vertical axis. The sprocket 50 is coupled to an arm 51 which carries the spindle 53 and forms part of a two part linkage, the other part of the linkage link 55 being coupled to the pivot post 29 of the forks to effect the movement of the further arm section relative to the first arm section.
