Abstract

1,210,349. Masted lift trucks. JUNGHEINRICH UNTERNCHMENSVERWALTUNG K.G. 1 July, 1969 [16 Aug., 1968], No. 33253/69. Heading B8H. A stacker truck comprising a multiple telescopic mast, operated by cables and an hydraulic ram, and a laterally movable cross-slide 12, Fig. 1, which carries forks 15, 16, has a height indicating device 7 for the forks, adjacent the operator's station. The cross-slide is operated electro-hydraulically, power being supplied through a cable wound on a spring-drum 18. The truck runs on rails and is guided by rollers with vertical axles. A sensing roller 55 cooperates with cams 57 to stop the truck at a preselected point. The forks are pivoted about a vertical axis 14, Fig. 3, by a ram and a link 17. Instead of being guided by rails the truck may be steered and braked by the operator. Fig. 5 shows the height indicator in which a fixed chain 44 rotates sprockets 46, 48 as a carriage 45 supporting the sprockets moves up and down with the forks. This rotation is transmitted to the indicator by a chain 49, a sprocket 50, and a drive-shaft connected to a counter. Circuits are provided to compare the counter output with a preset height device to arrest the forks at a particular selected height. The truck may be programmed to stop at a preselected point and for the forks to move to a preselected height, the cross movements and rotation thereof also being automatic. Interlocks limit the speed of travel of the truck when the forks are raised above a certain height. In a second embodiment, Fig. 10, the forks face sideways and are slidable laterally on guides 10. A television camera may be mounted on the lift platform.
