Abstract

1473557 Advancing mine roof support systems GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA 2 Aug 1974 [4 Aug 1973] 34256/74 Heading E1P In an advancing mine roof support system comprising a conveyor 10 and a frame including at least one rear support prop 16, a roof bar 18 and a forward prop 22 retractable from engagement with the floor, the advancing ram 25 acts between the conveyer and the frame to effect relative advancement of the frame and conveyor with the conveyor either disposed forwardly of the frame or between the props 16, 22 thereof to which end the connection between the ram and the frame is made adjustable in the direction towards the conveyor and means are provided for fixing said connection in position as desired. The connection involves a slide block [52] in conjunction with locking claws [61, 61'] which form an adjustable stop providing reaction to the ram 25 and its piston rod 29 whereby the conveyor and the frame can be shifted in two partial strokes, see Figs. 4a..4g, (not shown). When the prop 22 is free of the ground the cantilever extension 21 is held against the roof by a ram 35 acting on a pivot arm 33.
