Abstract

1473094 Electrical installation wiring SIMPLEX WIRING SYSTEMS Ltd 25 April 1974 [27 April 1973] 20080/73 Heading H2H An electrical wiring installation is so arranged that the supply to each of the outlets of the system is controlled by means of a solid state device, which device is itself controlled by means of a switch device remotely situated from the solid state device, the operating voltage for the switch being substantially less than that existing at the outlet. An installation comprises a plurality of loads each supplied from an A.C. source T L , T N over leads 13, 14 by way of a triac T. A low voltage is developed from the A.C. source by means of a transformer Tr and rectifying bridge 24 the output of the bridge 24 being used to energize the operating winding 11 of a reed relay R L when a switch SW, remote from the triac-reed relay assembly A, is closed. Energization of the relay closes contacts 10 to provide a gate signal for the triac T. Thus closure of the remotely positioned switch SW causes conduction of the triac T to supply the associated load. If desired the switch SW may be of the touch operated type in which case a connection 33, shown dotted, is required. Furthermore, the reed-relay may be replaced by a photo-electric device. All the components such as the triacs, resistors, relays &c. are assembled on a printed circuit board and form a central control unit to which are connected all the switches SW by means of flat, low voltage, conductors in the form of adhesive tapes.
