Abstract

1472733 Thermocouples NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 12 June 1975 [25 June 1974] 25192/75 Heading H1K A thermocouple comprises a sealed metal tube 46, an elongate dissimilar metal member 50 within the tube 46 and connected to the inner wall of the closed end of the tube 46, and a cylindrical base member 40 coupled to the other end of the tube 46 and supporting a sleeve 42 which holds compensation wires 44 which are connected to the tube 46 and the elongate member 50 by soldering. The metals of the tube 46 and the member 50 may be a Ni-Cr alloy and a Ni-Al-Mn-Si alloy respectively and they may be isolated by MgO powder 54, and the base member 40 contains alumina cement 56 for fixedly securing the soldered joints. The device may be supported by an insulated bracket 58.
