Abstract

1472221 Steam traps F A NEUMAN GmbH 18 June 1974 26827/74 Heading F4U In a trap for discharging liquid from gases, e.g. coke oven and blast furnace gases, the liquid collects in a chamber 1 provided with a discharge pipe 7 which is arranged concentrically in a riser pipe 5 secured to a float 4, the riser pipe 5 being provided with a sealing element 8 which is adapted to close the upper end of the discharge pipe 7. As the condensate level rises, the float 4 lifts the sealing element off the discharge pipe 7 thereby allowing the condensate to flow down the pipe to the outlet 3. A spacing member 9 is provided adjacent the inlet port 2 to limit upward movement of the riser pipe. The chamber may be provided with an electrical heater 10 or heating coil 11 for protection against frost and with a window 12 and a cleaning port 13.
