1472194 Rotary positive-displacement fluidmachines KOMATSU SEISAKUSHO KK 19 April 1974 [20 April 1973] 17381/74 Heading F1F In a gear-type pump a radial-sealing block 6 abutting the tooth tips of the gears 4, 5 has a central pressure-loading chamber 7 communicating with an outlet port 3, and also has outer pressureloading chambers 8, 9 communicating through conduits 12, 13, 16, 17 with spaces 4a, 5a between the block and gears. The faces 10, 11 of the block may have curvature radii equal to the tip-circle radii of the gears, and the distance L 2 between the curvature axes O 1 , O 2 may be equal to or less than that between the gear axes O 4 , O 5 , this arrangement being said to render the block self-centering with respect to the gear axes, Fig. 4 (not shown). Alternatively, the distance L 2 is greater than the distance between the gear axes, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), the block then being non-self-centering.
