1472155 Beverage filters R O WINBERG 19 May 1975 [20 May 1974] 21356/75 Heading B1D [Also in Division B8] A filter for use in preparing tea or similar beverage comprises a recpetacle having a conical sidewall 2 to enable nesting of similar filters, a bottom wall 5 and an inner bottom wall 7, with a measured quantity of extractable substance enclosed between the bottom wall 5 and the inner wall 7; the bottom wall 5, inner wall 7 and the portion 4 of the sidewall connecting the bottom and inner walls being impervious to water, whilst the side wall above the inner wall 7 is pervious to water, e.g. by provision of perforations 6 therein; and the inner wall 7 being such that when hot water is poured into the receptacle the extractable substance is mixed therewith e.g. the inner wall 7 may be of material which shrinks and ruptures in contact with the hot water, or the inner wall may be glued in position with glue which is melted by the hot water, and the inner wall may be of lower specific gravity than water and thus float to the surface.
