1470826 Metal working lubricant HOECHST AG 5 April 1974 [11 April 1973 (2)] 15250/74 Heading C5F A process for the cutting or non-cutting working of a metal, comprises working the metal in the presence of an aqueous refrigerating lubricant comprising a mixture of (a) an aqueous refrigerating lubricant based on an emulsion or solution of a mineral oil, soap, grease, fatty acid alkanolamine salt, alkanolamine borate, alkali metal nitrite, polyalkylene glycol, phosphoric acid ester or phosphonic acid ester, and (b) from 0À01 to 20% by weight, calculated on its solid content and the total'composition, of a copolymer latex having a solids content of from 20 to 60% by weight, the copolymer containing from 50 to 99% by weight of styrene, acrylonitrile, acrylate or methacrylate or a mixture of any two or more thereof, and from 1 to 50% by weight of an α,#-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, the latex containing ammonia or an amine and having a pH of from 6 to 11.
