1467816 Anti-theft devices K ZAIDENER 18 June 1974 [18 June 1973] 28914/73 Heading B7J [Also in Division E2] A vehicle anti-theft device comprises an elongated rod 12 formed with an axially extending series of recesses 14 and telescopically received in an elongated socket member 11, the free ends of rod 12 and member 11 respectively being hook shaped (13), Fig. 1 (not shown), for engagement with a control pedal and steering wheel of a vehicle respectively, with a locking mechanism 10 secured to member 11 and including a detent 18 biased by spring 20 into looking engagement with a selected recess 14 to prevent relative movement of rod 12 and member 11, a groove 30 extending longitudinally of rod 12 along the series of recesses 14 and a finger 31 entering the groove 30 to obstruct access to the detent 18 by extraneous means such as a steel strip for lock-picking purposes. Instead of forming part of casing 17 of the mechanism 10, as shown, the finger 31 may be formed on the inner face of the member 11.
