Abstract

1467434 Rotary-positive-displacement fluidmachines SERCK INDUSTRIES Ltd 26 April 1974 [27 April 1973] 20023/73 Heading F1F In an actuator a rotor 16 has substantially perpendicular vanes 19, 20 situated on opposite sides of a fixed partition between generally quadrantal portions of a substantially semi-cylindrical chamber, sealing being effected by e.g. an elastomeric material covering the rotor. The partition may comprise walls 13, 14 formed on housing halves 11, 12. Webs 24 of elastomeric material may inter-connect the partition, a rib 15, and the rotor hub 17, as shown in Fig. 3. Pressure-equalizing passages 21 may extend diametrically through the hub; and ports 22, 23 for the working fluid e.g. compressed air, may extend through the housing's peripheral wall.
