1467384 Microwave oven MOSKOV INST NAROD KHOZY IM G V PLEKHAN 13 June 1974 26198/74 Heading H5H A microwave oven having a single combined loading/unloading opening 22, comprises a cylindrical chamber 1 containing a coaxial conductive rotor having a shaft 2 from which extend equispaced radial blades 6 which cooperate with the walls of the chamber 1 to form a number of sealed microwave compartments, a plurality of horizontal dielectric shelves 8 between the blades 6 for carrying products 10 to be heated, the shelves 8 together forming a disc which conforms to the shape of the chamber 1, and a slot type microwave coupler 16 extending arcuately over part A of the chamber to communicate through apertures 18 in the wall of the chamber with several of the isolated compartments formed between the blades 6 at any one time as the rotor rotates. Zones B and C between the loading/unloading opening 22 and the microwave coupler prevent microwave energy escaping through opening 22. As shown, the peripheries of the blades 6 carry spring contact plates 7 which engage the top, bottom, and side walls of the chamber 1 to form microwave seals therewith. The blade peripheries may alternatively be provided with quarter wave chokes to seal the individual compartments. Carriers 9 for products 10 are rotatable via friction or gear drive as they pass through the heating zone A. The rotor shaft 2 has a number of dielectric stoppers 4 therein to enable microwave energy to be dissipated by a water load 5 in the shaft should no products be in the heating zone A. A magnetron, transformer, rectifier and a motor and reduction gear for the rotor are mounted beneath the chamber 1. A control panel is formed on the front face of a loading/unloading table 27. Ventilation of heating zone A is effected via microwave attenuator in a shroud 20 and a pipe connection 21 on top of the chamber.
