Abstract
1467136 Producing core matrices VYCHISLITE TSENTR SIBIRS OTDELEN AKAD NAUK SSSR 5 March 1975 [11 March 1974] 9094/75 Heading H3B Ferrite core matrices are made by separating the end cores from prestrung stacks 4 by means of a comb 8 initially inclined at less than 45 degrees to the plane of the wires 3, and holding the separated row of cores whilst a wire helix 13 is threaded through them. The stacks are engaged with the comb by tilting the frame holding tensioned wires 3 or by air nozzle 9 so that the end cores are trapped between the comb and wires. Reverse tilting of air nozzle 10 returns the other cores of the stack to their original position. The comb is rotated to the position shown in Fig. 4 for threading by the helix 13. The comb 8 may have additional sections 16, 17 which are movable towards and away from the wires 3 to locate and hold the cores during threading, and may optionally be divided into individual groove sections each with its own drive device so that selected cores may be moved into locations where they are not threaded by the helix or where they form parallel rows separated by a distance equal to the helix diameter such that the cores in the rows become orthogonal when the helix is subsequently straightened. The comb grooves may be at alternate levels to assist this.
