Abstract

1466662 Lattice girder UNIVERSAL BAR SUPPLIES Ltd 15 March 1974 [17 April 1973 4 June 1973] 18360/73 and 26544/73 Headings E1K and E1W A lattice girder of triangular cross-section for use in reinforced concrete has two sides 13, 14 each formed of rod bent to a wave-like formation with flat crests 16 or 60 which extend for at least 50% of the wavelength such that adjacent crests on the same side are spaced from each other and the overlapping portions of the crests on opposite sides are secured together without the use of a separate chord-bar. The ends of the crests have diagonal legs 18 or 61 joined to feet 17 or 63 in the plane of the girder's base. Each side may be either a continuous rod, Fig. 5, or a plurality of spaced elements, Fig. 15. The separate elements may be interleaved, Fig. 18, so that one end of the element's flat top 66 forms a crest on one side of the girder and the other end forms the crest on the other side. The feet 63 or 68 may extend transversely to the girder's length and may support reinforcing rods for concrete. A clip is disclosed, Figs. 7 and 18 (not shown) which spans the girder's base and supports reinforcement rods extending parallel to the girder.
