Abstract

1466421 Winding: securing thread end at start of winding W REINERS VERWALTUNGSGmbH 7 March 1974 [14 March 1973] 10367/74 Heading D1J During bobbin replacement in a textile machine, a patrolling tender sucks away a continuously arriving thread and moves it to a reception position of a bobbin tube, the thread end is clamped at one tube and by the action of clamping the tube, the thread end is cut, and a thread reserve is formed before winding. Frame 7, Fig. 1, supports bobbin 8 driven by roll 6 to wind thread 3. To change bobbins, tender 11 is driven along suction tube 10 on rollers 13, and is located by pin 16. Thread 3 is cut and led in path 3' over rod 35 into suction nozzle 24 connected, Fig. 2, via pivot joint 15 and valve 20 to tube 10. The package is removed from the opened frame which sinks until bobbin locating heads 42, 43 rest on roll 6, the tender pawl 33 holding the frame open. An empty bobbin is applied to head 42, leaving a gap with head 43. Nozzle 24 is pivoted downward by hand with rod 35 to the dot-dash position to lay the thread in the gap. Nozzle cutter 25 is actuated to cut the thread, and pawl 33 pivoted to release frame 7 to grip the thread in the gap. The cutter and pawl are operated by levers and rods operated by the nozzle pivoting. The thread runs over rod 35 to form a reserve, and is then released to engage with traversing guide 5. The tender may automatically position the thread. Locating head In a locating head allowing the bobbin to be located before thread clamping, Fig. 3, frame member 9 is first moved to locate bobbin 8 on disc 45 while leaving gap 50, thread is inserted in the gap to abut collar 48, and member 9 is moved with journal 40 and disc 41 against spring 46 to close the gap.
