1466290 Branch pipe fittings KAY & CO (ENGS) Ltd 23 July 1975 [25 July 1974] 32953/74 Heading F2G A branch fitting for a main gas pipe 1 comprises a parallel screw threaded end 3 received in a tapped hole in the pipe 1, a resilient rubber gasket 4 screwed on the end 3 and down against the pipe 1, and a locknut 6 also screwed on the end 3 and having a conically tapering inner face 8 bearing through a part 10 of a collar held captive on the nut 6 by a turned over edge part 12, on a complementary face 9 of the gasket 4, the collar being rotatable with respect to the nut 6. Ridges 5 are provided on the pipe engaging face of the gasket 4 to facilitate formation of a seal.
