Abstract
146,620. Rees, T. A. April 11, 1919. Hot-air engines. - The displacer piston H is connected to the connecting-rod A of the engine piston E by means of a link B, a lever C fulcrumed on the piston, and rods F. G. During the down-stroke, the air in the space I passes through channels K, L, valve M, and heating pipes N into the space O. During the up-stroke the air passes through ports P, channels Q. and cooling-pipes R into the space I. The engine is started by lowering a roller T on to the shaped edge of the fly-wheel U so as to open a valve V and admit compressed air through a pipe X. It is stopped by releasing the air into a storage tank and atmosphere.
