1464053 Drilling fluids TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 13 May 1975 [22 July 1974] 19975/75 Heading E1F An aqueous drilling fluid having less than 200 parts per million of calcium dissolved therein and a pH greater than 10 contains, for reducing gel strength and yield point, hydrolysed cereal solids comprising 15 to 25% by weight of di-, tri-, tetra-, and pentasaccharides, and 75 to 85% by weight of hexasaccharides and above. The fluid may also contain lithium, sodium, potassium or ammonium chromates or dichromates.
