Abstract

1463835 Motor vehicle fittings S BIRKART 20 March 1974 [20 March 1973 6 March 1974] 12286/74 Heading B7B [Also in Division B8] A structure for supporting meat or clothing in a freight container or in the boot of a vehicle comprises two longitudinal rods 3 adjustable by device 4 to tighten against the ends of the container, supported from the floor by vertical members 15 and spaced transversely by rods 8. If members 15 are provided with keyhole slots 16 further transverse rods 19 are fitted as additional article supports. Distance pieces on the rods 3 and junction members 9 are used to space and locate the rods 8. The members 15 are of top-hat section and the space between them is filled by plates 20 to form a plane surface. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 7 suspension bars 114 are mounted on holders 112 connected to the rods 8, the holders 112 being adjustable in length. With this embodiment the bars 114 are shorter than the length of the container so that by winding handles 127 of winding drums 119 the bars are drawn up adjacent the inside of the roof to a non-operative position. Make-up bars 115 are provided to extend bars 114 when in their operative position. The winding drums 119 may be actuated electrically, hydraulically or pneumatically.
