Abstract

1463476 Bearings SKF COMPAGNIE D'APPLICATIONS MECANIQUES 3 April 1975 [4 April 1974] 13771/75 Heading F2A A bearing assembly comprises a cylindrical centring surface 8 interrupted by at least two perpendicular planes 9, 10 leaving standing between them a portion 8a of the cylindrical surface, so that mounting of the bearing assembly may be effected equally well in an angular seat 11 or in a semicircular seat. The centring surface may form the outer surface of a housing 1 in which the bearing 4 is situated. The housing 1 may be mounted in a frame 5 by means of a flange 14, or by extensions of the side covers 2, 3. In a further embodiment, the centring surface is constituted by the bottom of a groove cut into the outer surface of the housing, and the assembly is secured in the frame by means of an iron collar-strap of substantially semicircular or angular shape and which contacts the centring surface. The outer race may be mounted in the housing with axial clearance.
