Abstract

1462911 Arc welding flux and electrodes MESSER GRIESHEIM GmbH 16 May 1974 [17 May 1973] 21781/74 Headings C7A and C7M A submerged arc welding flux for welding Ni alloy steels contains in weight per cent 10-25 CaF 2 , 5-20 CaO, 15-30 MgO, 20-50 Al 2 O 3 , 2-6 SiO 2 , a trace to 10 alkali metal oxides and alloying elements. The SiO 2 is preferably added only through the binder and the other raw materials have a SiO 2 content < 0À5%. A 9% Ni steel is welded with the flux using an electrode containing in weight per cent 0À2C, 0À3 Si, 7Mn, 18 Cr, 12 Ni, 8 Co, 6 W, 2 Mo, balance Fe or <0À2C, <1 Si, 7 Mn, 15 Cr, 13Ni, 4W, balance Fe.
