Abstract

146,204. Soc. Franþaise Radio-Electrique. Nov. 3, 1916, [Convention date]. Drawings to Specification. Aerials; directive wireless signalling. - Coil aerials for wireless reception or transmission have the turns arranged in groups which may be connected in series or in parallel so as to tune the aerial to the wave length employed. Simultaneously the transformation ratio of the first transformer of the high-frequency amplifier may be adjusted. The plane of the aerial coil may be turned in azimuth. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the aerial coil may be inclined to the vertical. Capacities may be distributed along the turns of the aerial so as to reduce its wave length. Another form of receiving or radiating conductor comprises two horizontal plates. An inductance coil may be connected between the plates for tuning, and the grid and filament of the first amplifier are connected across this inductance. This inductance may comprise a coil aerial which is turned so as to lie in the plane of propagation or reception. Each horizontal plate may be divided into sections connected by inductances. The plates may be protected by metal screens which absorb or reflect waves from undesired directions. The receiving- plates may be turned into an inclined or vertical plane for receiving from elevated transmitting stations, or for transmitting. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
