Abstract

1461561 Screw conveyers E SPRUNCK 24 Jan 1975 [29 Jan 1974] 3093/75 Heading B8A In a method of conveying pulverulent material in conduits, in which the produced is introduced and urged forward by mechanical means, such as a conveyer screw at the entrance, a liquid lubricant is introduced at different places along the conduits to form a continuous film of the liquid on the inner wall of the conduit. An installation for conveying lime, coal dust or the like pulverulent material into a blast furnace according to the above method includes an injection sleeve 8 which surrounds the annular slot 7 made by separating two sections of conduit screw-threads permitting adjustment of the width of the slot. Liquid lubricant, such as a hydrocarbon is supplied from an aperture 11 to an annular chamber 9 in the sleeve 8, other injection sleeves 8 being provided along the conduit, Fig. 1 (not shown).
