Abstract

1460866 Welding by fusion; cutting by fusion MESSER GRIESHEIM GmbH 15 March 1974 [17 March 1973] 11630/74 Headings B3R and B3V [Also in Divisions B2 and C4] An electrode for arc welding or cutting under water or in tanks, pipes &c. is provided with a prime coating and then with a further fluorescent coating. The primer coating may be applied by dipping the electrode in a polyvinyl alcohol solution in which PV Fast White R pigment has been dispersed. The further coating may then be applied by immersion in a fluorescent polystyrene material. The coated electrode may have a bare clamping end which is protected against corrosion by a wax coating.
