Abstract

1460854 Pressurized dispensing container valve actuators L'OREAL 7 March 1974 [16 March 1973] 10321/74 Heading F1R A dispensing cap adapted to be mounted on a pressurized dispensing container for actuating the valve thereof has radial fins 16 around the axis, which fins are radially inwardly pivotable whereby a dispensing member 9 which is adapted to be engaged on the valve stem 4, is operated to open the valve. The fins are hinged at 18 to a cylindrical portion 14 which has a head 15 for engagement with a groove in the container. As shown the dispensing member 9 is separate from the cap and has a flange 12 engageable by the ends 17 of the fins 16. The fins may be integral with the flange, Fig. 3 (not shown) the exterior contour of the fins may be cylindrical as shown or part spherical, Fig. 4, (not shown). In place of the axial outlet dispensing member an elbow shaped member may be used to give radial discharge, one fin being of reduced height to accommodate the outlet portion, Fig. 5 (not shown), or the discharge may be formed in a member having a disc-like head above the ends of the fins, Fig. 6 (not shown). To prevent inadvertent operation of the valve or to render a container "pilfer-proof" a locking cap may be fitted to the fins; the cap may be secured to the container by frangible means.
