1460340 Cabinets; stands; furniture frames and joints LONGATO ARREDAMENTI SpA 16 Sept 1974 [21 Sept 1973] 40202/74 Headings A4B and A4H A furniture article such as a wardrobe, bookcase, stand, comprises a rectangular base frame formed of opposed stringers (2), 3 and cross-pieces 4 having end-portions 5 with pins (6) force-fitted in holes (7) in the stringers, a pair of side walls 13 each having a pair of bottom recesses 13' each receiving and securing a support element or adjustable foot 15, the feet 15 being fixed to the crosspieces 4, a rear wall 25 connected to one stringer 3 and 6 the side walls 13, a base panel (9) resting on fillets 8 secured to the stringers, and a top panel (28) resting on brackets (27) secured to walls 13. Each foot has an upper portion having flanges (17) screwed to wall 13, and a lower adjustable portion 18 carrying a threaded stud 19 which engages in a threaded bush (20) in the upper portion. Screws 24 pass through bores 11 in the cross-piece 4 and foot 15, and are threaded into bosses 23 in a finishing plate 21. Rear wall 25 has a lower crossshaped fillet 10' received in a recess 10 in stringer 3, and wall 25 is secured to walls 13 by brackets (26) and screws. Further brackets screwed to walls 13 may support panels (29) to define compartments. Holes 12 in cross-pieces 4 may receive adjustable feet. The cross-pieces 4 may comprise plastics material.
