Abstract
1459429 Electric motors TOKAI RIKA DENKI SEISAKUSHO KK 27 Dec 1973 [26 Dec 1972 9 March 1973 (2)] 59753/73 Heading H2A In a motor comprising an annular permanent magnet stator, an annular exciting coil coaxial with the stator, and a rotor having pole teeth extending from a circular body portion lying in a radial plane, the number of poles on the stator is an even multiple of the number of teeth on the rotor, and the flux paths in the motor are arranged so that the rotor experiences a continuous magnetic force in one axial direction. In the motor shown, the circular body portion of a rotor 5 is spaced an axial distance g 4 from a radially polarized cylindrical permanent magnet stator 4, and teeth 5a of the rotor 5 are spaced a radial distance g 3 from the stator 4, and also an axial distance g 2 from a casing yoke part 1 to which the stator 4 is fixed. Flux paths around an annular exciting coil 8 are completed by a further yoke part 7, the latter having an axially projecting portion 7a which provides flux linkage with the rotor 5 via a radial gap g 1 . The magnetic forces developed in operation are such that the rotor 5 is continuously biased towards the stator 4. In the motor of Fig. 5 (not shown), the rotor (5) has a magnetic plate (5b) which extends over a casing part (7), flux being able to pass between the plate and the casing part via an axial gap (g 1 ). In a similar arrangement (Fig. 6, not shown), a corresponding rotor plate (5c) and casing part (7) have axial projections (5<SP>1</SP>c and 7b). In the motor of Fig. 9 (not shown), the pole teeth (5a) of the rotor (5) are co-planar with the circular body portion of the rotor, and a planar permanent magnet stator (4) is co-planar with a projection (11a) of a yoke (11) having an E- shape section, a casing (10) being of non-magnetic material. In the arrangement of Fig. 10 (not shown), two motor units are mounted in tandem in two compartments of a partitioned casing, one unit being similar to that of Fig. 1 and one to that of Fig. 5.
