1459046 Liquid crystal compositions DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 25 March 1975 [15 March 1974] 11607/74 Addition to 1433130 Heading C4X [Also in Division G2] A liquid crystal material comprises a liquid crystal compound as defined in claim 1 of Specification 1,433,130, and a dye dissolved in said compound. The dye molecules are preferably at least twice as long as the liquid crystal compound. The dyes may be dichroic, e.g. #- carotene or pleochroic. The liquid crystal material may be employed in various conventional electro-optical devices.
