Abstract

1458915 Vinylidene fluoride resins KUREHA KAGAKU KOGYO KK 13 Sept 1974 [13 Sept 1973] 39988/74 Heading C3P A vinylidene fluoride resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a vinylidene fluoride resin with from 1-10 parts by weight of a polyester comprising a chain which contains recurring units of an ester obtained from a dihydric alcohol having 2 to 4 carbon atoms and a dicarboxylic acid having from 4 to 6 carbon atoms and having a molecular weight of 1500 to 4000, and each end of the chain of the polyester terminating via an ester linkage in a group derived from a monobasic acid having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms or monohydric alcohol having from 1-3 carbon atoms. The vinylidene fluoride resin may have an inherent viscosity of 0À7 to 2À0. The polyester addition may have the formula in which PG represents a propylene glycol radical, Bu represents a butanediol radical and AG represents an adipate radical, such esters having molecular weights ranging from 1600 to 3000. The resins can be spun into fibres suitable for making fishing lines.
