Abstract

1458858 Registering sheets KOMBINAT ZENTRONIK VEB 8 Feb 1974 [21 March 1973] 05936/74 Heading B8R A device for aligning the edges of sheets supported on a chute comprising guide surfaces 24, 25 with a notch 26, includes a pivotable aligning rail 16 having two lugs 15, 19 projecting through recesses 20, 21 in a fixed machine wall 22. The rail is longitudinally movable by an electro-magnet 1, via a pivotable armature 10, to effect alignment. The chute 23 is slidable between two alignment positions, the illustrated position being one in which the lug 19 and an associated finger 27 engage the surface 25 and are blocked thereby whilst lug 15 is operative to engage in the notch 23 and align a card 29<SP>1</SP>, the other position, Fig. 2 (not shown), being one in which the chute 23 is located at an upper position and the lug 19 is free to project through the notch 23 and align a card (29). Contacts 31 emit a signal to show the state of the magnet 1 and thus the rail position.
