Abstract
1457731 Hydraulic control circuits GENERAL SIGNAL CORP 13 March 1975 [28 March 1974] 10448/75 Heading F1P A compensated multifunction hydraulic system, Fig. 2, comprising two control valves 30, 30<SP>1</SP>, for controlling separate actuators and two pressure compensators 12, 12<SP>1</SP>, one of which, 12, controls flow from a supply line 29 to the compensator 12<SP>1</SP>, has pressure relief means 16 which allows fluid-flow in a line 138 so that the compensator 12 is able to permit flow to the valve 30<SP>1</SP> when the valve 30 is in a stalled condition. The latter condition arises when the actuator controlled by the valve 30 has reached the end of its stroke. In this condition the pressure in lines 36 and 138 becomes equal, so a spring 34 moves the spool of compensator 12 to the right and fluid is unable to pass to the valve 30<SP>1</SP>. Also, because the pressure drop across a throttle 42 becomes zero under stall conditions, the pump output drops, Fig. 1 (not shown). With the arrangement shown in Fig. 2, when the valve 12 is in stalled condition fluid pressure increases in the line 138 and the valve 16 opens to permit fluid-flow from line 90 to the tank T. This permits the higher pressure in the line 36 to move the compensator spool to a position where it diverts flow to the compensator 12<SP>1</SP> through a line 32. Fig 3 shows a second embodiment in which, when the valve 30 is in the stalled condition, pressure fluid flows through a line 238, valve 16 and a line 112 to operate an actuator 116 which moves the compensator spool to allow fluid to flow to the compensator 12<SP>1</SP>.
