Abstract
1457185 Extraction of plutonium KERNFORSCHUNG mbH GES FUER 14 Feb 1974 [15 Feb 1973] 6707/74 Heading G6R [Also in Division B1] The extraction of plutonium from aqueous nitric acid solution into an organic solution of tricaprylmethylammonium nitrate in xylol is described as an example of a process which may be carried out using a particular form of liquidliquid extraction device (see Division B1) wherein two or more phases of differing density are mixed and gravity separated, and one or more of the phases, including the heavier or heaviest phase, is sucked up by an injector device from a vessel containing the separated phases and then atomized and sprayed downwardly back into the vessel.
