Abstract

PURPOSE: To separate plutonium from solution containing uran and plutonium by means of a solvent extraction method.
CONSTITUTION: Solution including nitrate of uranyl and nitrate of plutonium, for which TBP obtained in a nuclear fuel re-disposal process is solvent, is touched with a separating agent consisting of aliphtic hydroxycarbon acid water solution and water solution mixed with nitrate in a low concentration. Plutonium is extracted in the aforesaid separating agent solution, and is seperated from uran. When the aforesaid is processed by means of small-sized 12-staged mixer etc., plutonium included in TBD is concentrated approximately 5 times in lactic acid-nitrate mixture, and is separation-collected at a collecting rate of approximately 99 percent. On the other hand, uran is left in nearly as it is.
