Abstract

1457157 Electrically conductive thermoplastics compositions MITSUBISHI RAYON CO Ltd 22 July 1974 [23 July 1973] 32421/74 Headings C3P and C3R Mouldable electrically conductive thermoplastic compositions comprise (A) 95 to 30 weight per cent of a resin compositions comprising (i) 100 parts by weight of a polyolefin resin having good affinity for carbon black and (ii) 5 to 900 parts by weight of thermoplastic resin selected from polyamides, polyesters, polystyrene and polymethyl methacrylate and having poor affinity for carbon black and the polyolefin resin and (B) 5 to 70 weight per cent of conductive carbon black. The polyolefin may be derived from ethylene, propylene, butene, pentene or 4-methylpentene-1. The carbon black may be furnace, acetylene or channel black. Examples describe compositions comprising polypropylene or polyethylene and nylon-6, polyethylene terephthalate, polystyrene or polymethyl methacrylate.
