Abstract

1457060 Knitting-machines FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL SA 11 April 1974 [12 July 1973] 16284/74 Heading D1C A comb for transferring fabric of one gauge, e.g. rib boarders, to a magazine comb of another gauge, comprises a series of blocks 6 movable between spaced and closable positions, and carrying points 10 pivoted at their extremities in the blocks. The blocks are extensibly assembled by U-shaped abutments 7, and opened or closed by pneumatic cylinders 9. To remove the fabric from the needles, the points are spaced while the blocks are open by interposing a comb 12 corresponding to the needle gauge, usually the coarser. The blocks are then closed and the points' gauge reset to that of the magazine bar, usually finer, by interposing comb 13, as shown in Figure 5. The comb may be in two halfs, for transferring a pair of cuffs, the transfer method may include two combs, to cover a bigger gauge difference.
