Abstract
1456193 Testing ignition systems SUNTESTER Ltd 16 Nov 1973 [16 Aug 1972] 38287/72 Heading G1U In testing the ignition system of an I.C. engine, a signal proportional to the high tension output is integrated over each ignition cycle. The integrated signal is peak detected to provide an indication of the spark energy. In a modification, Fig. 4, (not shown), the integrator is arranged to pass pulses representing the secondary oscillations (i.e. those occurring after the spark is extinguished), to a storage capacitor which averages them to provide a second test value. In another embodiment, Fig. 2, (not shown), the polarity of the integrator output, indicates the polarity of the ignition system.
