Abstract

1456022 Ventilators CARRIER CORP 14 Nov 1973 [1 Dec 1972] 52822/73 Heading F4V A ceiling mounted air distributing unit comprises a plenum subdivided into a chamber 61 supplied with primary air from a first central conditioning plant arranged to vary the temperature of the primary air inversely to the temperature of air outside the building being conditioned and a chamber 62 supplied with secondary air which has been cooled to a constant temperature from a second central conditioning plant, air discharge slots 64, 65 communicating with chambers 61, 62 respectively and directing the primary air towards an exterior wall of the building and the secondary air away therefrom, and inflatable resilient bladders 73, 74 responsive respectively to pressure changes in chamber 61 to maintain a constant flow rate of primary air and to a room thermostat. Sound absorbing material, e.g. glass fibre is provided at 67 and 79, and felt at 75. The first plant includes a filter (24, Fig. 2), and cooling and heating coils (25, 26 respectively) and the second plant includes a filter (30) and a cooling coil (31) and both plants receive return air via a common duct and fan.
