1455818 Superconducting dynamoelectric machines INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO Ltd 30 Oct 1973 [31 Oct 1972] 50208/72 Heading H2A In a dynamo-electric machine, e.g. a synchronous A.C. generator, having a superconducting rotor fixed winding 1 and a non-superconducting stator winding 2, the environment is protected against magnetic fields generated in the machine by a magnetic screen 9, e.g. of Cu or Al, which surrounds the windings. The space 8 within the rotor and the space 10 between the rotor and stator are evacuated by a pump 11. Refrigeration apparatus for the cryogenic fluid is located in the space 8. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,351,601.
