Abstract
1455681 Keeping damaged ships afloat B K HENRIKSEN 30 Jan 1975 [31 Jan 1974] 7073/75 Heading B7S Cavities or niches 9 in the side walls of a ship contain inflatable bags 1. The cavities have shutters 7 flush with the side of the ship and hinged so that when open they lie on the surface of the ship's side. In the embodiment shown hinges 8 are vertical and there is an open space 5 on each side of the ship to enable passengers to disembark.
